The Inspector-General of Police, Kayode Egbetokun, has approved the appointment of Chief Superintendent of Police (CSP) Benjamin Hundeyin as the new Force Public Relations Officer (FPRO).
Hundeyin, who was previously the spokesperson for the Lagos State Police Command, takes over from Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) Muyiwa Adejobi, who has been redeployed to the Delta State Police Command as Deputy Commissioner in charge of Operations following his recent promotion.
As the new national police spokesperson, Hundeyin is expected to spearhead the Force’s communication strategy, enhance transparency, and build public trust through effective crisis management and strategic messaging.
With over two decades of experience in law enforcement and security management, Hundeyin brings a wealth of expertise to the role.
He holds a Bachelor’s degree in English Language from Lagos State University and a Master’s degree in Legal Criminology and Security Psychology from the University of Ibadan.
Hundeyin’s distinguished career includes serving as Police Public Relations Officer at Zone 2 Command Headquarters in Lagos and participating in the United Nations Peacekeeping Mission in Darfur, Sudan.
He is also an associate of the Nigerian Institute of Public Relations and a member of the International Public Relations Association.
