Gunmen suspected to be bandits have kidnapped the wife, Hajiya Fatima, and daughter, Amina, of Alhaji Muhammad Swasun, the Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Sakpefu community, Patigi Local Government Area of Kwara State.

The attack occurred on Sunday night when the assailants stormed the community, shooting sporadically to instill fear among residents.

The gunmen reportedly operated for several minutes before whisking away their victims to an undisclosed location.

This incident adds to growing concerns over insecurity in Kwara State, particularly in rural communities where residents have repeatedly lamented slow security response to violent crimes.

In a similar incident, gunmen attacked Shagbe community in Ifelodun Local Government Area, killing some residents and abducting several others during an invasion of the palace of the community’s monarch.
