The union had suspended its strike action just 48 hours prior after agreeing to recognize workers’ rights to unionize.

However, NUPENG claims that Dangote Refinery has reneged on the deal, ordering truck drivers to remove union stickers from their vehicles.

The union has warned that it might resume the suspended industrial action if the agreement is not honored.

NUPENG is calling on the Federal Government to intervene and ensure that security agents do not take sides in the dispute.
