Six-time African Women’s Player of the Year, Asisat Oshoala, made a dream start to her Saudi Women’s Premier League career, finding the net on her debut as Al Hilal defeated Al Qadsiah 4–3 in a pulsating clash.
Oshoala, who arrived from U.S. side Bay FC this summer, converted a 62nd-minute penalty to restore Al Hilal’s lead shortly after Al Qadsiah had pulled level.
Earlier, Al Bandari Mobarak had fired Al Hilal into a two-goal cushion with strikes in the 30th and 36th minutes, the second assisted by Morocco’s captain and 2024 WAFCON top scorer, Ghizlane Chebbak. But French midfielder Léa Le Garrec halved the deficit for Al Qadsiah just before the break.

The visitors equalised again in the 58th minute through Adriana, but Oshoala responded almost immediately from the spot to make it 3–2. Portuguese international Jéssica Silva extended the lead in the 74th minute, seemingly putting the contest beyond doubt.
However, German star Dzsenifer Marozsán struck in stoppage time to set up a tense finale, though Al Hilal held firm to secure victory.
Oshoala’s debut goal highlights the anticipation surrounding her move to Saudi Arabia and her determination to be a decisive figure for Al Hilal this season.
The Riyadh giants will next face Eastern Flames, with Oshoala expected to once again spearhead the attack as they aim to build early momentum in the league.
