The Nigerian Railway Corporation (NRC) has announced that train operations along the Abuja–Kaduna corridor will resume on Wednesday, October 1, 2025.
In a statement signed by its Chief Public Relations Officer, Callistus Unyimadu, the Corporation said services were suspended to allow for repairs and safety checks on the affected section of the track at Asham Station following the August 26 derailment.

The NRC assured passengers that their safety and comfort remain its top priority, while expressing regret over the disruption caused by the suspension.
The statement also confirmed that refunds have been processed for 512 out of the 583 passengers who were on board the derailed train.
