UAC of Nigeria PLC (UAC) has announced the successful completion of its acquisition of Chivita|Hollandia (CHI Limited), following approval from the Federal Competition and Consumer Protection Commission (FCCPC).

In a statement filed with the Nigerian Exchange Group (NGX) on Friday, UAC said the acquisition would enhance its presence in Nigeria’s fast-moving consumer goods (FMCG) industry, expanding its reach into the growing juice and dairy segments.

The deal, first disclosed on July 30, 2025, officially transfers ownership of CHI Limited to UAC.

Commenting on the development, Managing Director of CHI Limited, Eelco Weber, expressed optimism about the company’s future under UAC.

“We are pleased to have received regulatory approval for this transaction. We look forward to a seamless transition and to seeing Chivita|Hollandia continue to thrive under UAC’s ownership,” Weber said.

Group Managing Director of UAC, Fola Aiyesimoju, described the acquisition as a strategic move that aligns with the company’s long-term growth vision.

“We are excited to officially welcome the Chivita|Hollandia team and brands into the UAC family. This acquisition strengthens our portfolio with two leading brands and a robust distribution network, and we look forward to building on their legacy of excellence,” Aiyesimoju stated.

According to UAC, the acquisition supports its goal of deepening its footprint in Nigeria’s FMCG sector and leveraging CHI’s established market position in beverages and dairy products.

For The Coca-Cola Company, which previously owned CHI Limited, the transaction aligns with its global strategy to operate a more asset-light business model, focusing on its high-scale beverage brands.

Coca-Cola has also reiterated its commitment to the Nigerian market, with plans to invest $1 billion over the next five years—subject to the maintenance of a stable and supportive business environment.
