The World Health Organization (WHO) has reported encouraging signs of containment in the Ebola outbreak in the Democratic Republic of Congo, with no new confirmed or probable cases reported since October 1.
As of October 5, a total of 64 cases, including 11 probable cases and 43 deaths, have been reported in Congo’s Kasai Province.
The WHO’s update indicates that 10 days have passed without any newly reported cases, suggesting potential control of transmission in the affected areas.
This development brings hope that the outbreak may be brought under control, although the WHO emphasizes the need for continued vigilance to prevent further spread.
The organization’s efforts, along with those of local health authorities and international partners, have been crucial in responding to the outbreak and working towards containment.
