The Chief of Army Staff, Lieutenant General Waidi Shaibu, has directed troops of Operation FANSAN YANMA to escalate efforts to secure the release of students abducted from Government Girls Comprehensive Senior Secondary School (GGCSS) in Maga, Kebbi State.

In a statement by Captain Yamma David Adewusi, Information Officer for Operation FANSAN, the Chief of Army Staff issued the directives during an operational tour of the state.
General Shaibu urged frontline commanders and troops to conduct intelligence-led operations and maintain continuous day-and-night pursuit of the abductors. He emphasized the importance of engaging local vigilantes and hunters, describing them as key partners in the mission.
He further instructed troops to leverage the local knowledge of these collaborators to navigate the terrain effectively, locate the abductors, and neutralize the criminal elements responsible for the attack.
