Nigeria: Bauchi State Orders Immediate Closure of Schools Due to Security Concerns

The Bauchi State Government has directed the immediate closure of all primary, secondary, and tertiary institutions, including federal government-owned schools and private schools, effective immediately.

This decision was taken after extensive consultations and in response to overwhelming securityf concerns affecting the safety of students, teachers, and school communities across the state.

In a statement released by the Information Officer, Jallaludeen Usman, the government explained that the protection of children remains their highest moral responsibility, and every student in Bauchi State deserves to learn in a safe, stable, and fear-free environment.

The government urged parents, guardians, school proprietors, and stakeholders to remain calm and cooperative, assuring that security agencies are working to address concerns and resume normal academic activities as soon as possible. Citizens are also urged to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activities.
