Renowned Nigerian actor and comedian Odira Nwobu has reportedly passed away in South Africa.
According to Stanley Ontop, Nwobu died in the early hours of Monday, November 24, 2025, after battling high blood pressure. The actor had recently survived a car accident on the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway in June 2025, where he was the sole survivor.
Nwobu, born on May 24, 1982, in Enugu, Nigeria, was known for his hilarious skits and roles in Nollywood movies, earning him a Best Comic Actor nomination at the African Movie Academy Awards.
His death has sent shockwaves through the entertainment industry, with fans and colleagues expressing their grief and disbelief.
