Former Chief of Defence Staff, General Christopher Musa, has taken oath of office as Nigeria’s new Minister of Defence.
The Senate confirmed his appointment on Wednesday after a rigorous five-hour screening.
President Bola Tinubu nominated Musa following the resignation of Defence Minister Badaru Mohammed on health grounds. Musa pledged to prioritize protecting lives and national territory.
As Defence Minister, he aims to strengthen coordination among security institutions and tackle growing security challenges.
