Libya’s General Union of Chambers of Commerce, Industry and Agriculture has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Serbia’s Chamber of Economy to enhance economic and trade cooperation between the two nations.

The agreement, signed in Belgrade, aims to expand trade and investment, and establishes a joint chamber to oversee implementation and follow-up on agreed projects.

The MoU was signed by Libya’s chamber president Mohamed Al-Raied and Serbian official Mihailo Vesović, in the presence of senior Libyan and Serbian officials and business representatives.

This move is expected to strengthen economic ties between Libya and Serbia, promoting mutual trade and investment opportunities.

The agreement is part of Libya’s efforts to diversify its economy and strengthen ties with European countries. Serbia, as a key player in the region, offers opportunities for Libyan businesses to expand into the European market.

The signing of the MoU is also seen as a step towards increasing economic cooperation between Libya and Serbia, with plans for a Libya-Serbia economic forum to be held in December.
