A Cessna 172 aircraft operated by Skypower Express crashed at Sam Mbakwe International Cargo Airport in Owerri, Imo State, on Tuesday evening, with four people onboard.
The plane, registered as 5N-ASR, had diverted to Owerri due to an in-flight emergency while en route from Kaduna to Port Harcourt.
Fortunately, no fatalities were reported, and emergency responders arrived promptly at the scene.
The Nigerian Safety Investigation Bureau (NSIB) confirmed there was no post-crash fire, and airport operations continued normally.
The NSIB has activated its investigation protocols, and investigators are working to secure the crash site and examine the wreckage.
