The announcement was made on Monday in a statement from the Ministry of Interior on behalf of the Minister, Dr. Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo.

In the statement, the minister encouraged Nigerians to use the festive season to reflect on the virtues of love, peace, humility, and sacrifice that are associated with the birth of Jesus Christ.

He called on all citizens, regardless of their faith, to pray for the peace, security, and continued development of the nation.
