As part of a first-of-its-kind, two-day tour of security formations across Zamfara State, Governor Dauda Lawal has called for renewed collaboration in the fight against insecurity while providing a significant morale boost to frontline personnel.
Represented by the Secretary to the State Government, Abubakar Nakwada, the governor announced a donation of N160 million, distributed among the various security agencies as an end-of-year package to help them celebrate the festive season.
The tour, which covered the Army, Air Force, Police, DSS, and the state’s Community Protection Guards, was designed to recognize the dedication and sacrifices of security officers safeguarding lives and property in the state.
During the visits, the governor’s representative conveyed the deep appreciation of the government and people of Zamfara, urging the agencies to increase their concerted efforts to address the state’s ongoing security challenges.
He also extended heartfelt condolences for officers who have lost their lives in the line of duty and reassured all agencies of the state government’s continued support to help them perform their duties effectively.
In response, the heads of the security formations commended the governor’s initiative and thanked residents for their cooperation, which they described as critical to their success in the fight against crime.
This move is part of Governor Lawal’s broader strategy to tackle insecurity, which includes establishing a state Security Trust Fund and the new Community Protection Guards.
