Manchester City have completed the signing of Ghana forward Antoine Semenyo from Bournemouth in a deal worth £64 million.

Semenyo has signed a five-and-a-half-year contract with Pep Guardiola’s side and will wear the No. 42 shirt at the Etihad Stadium. The 26-year-old beat interest from Manchester United, Liverpool, Chelsea and Tottenham to secure the move.

The deal includes a guaranteed £62.5 million fee, with a further £1.5 million in performance-related bonuses and a 10 per cent sell-on clause. Bournemouth also confirmed that Bristol City, Semenyo’s former club, will receive 20 per cent of the profit from the transfer.

Speaking after completing the move, Semenyo said he was proud to join City and believes his best football is still ahead of him. He added that working under Guardiola and competing in multiple competitions this season was a major motivation.

Semenyo leaves Bournemouth after scoring 10 goals and providing three assists in the Premier League this season. He netted a stoppage-time winner against Tottenham in his final appearance for the club before undergoing his City medical.

Manchester City’s director of football, Hugo Viana, described Semenyo as the club’s top target, praising his pace, power and potential for further development.
