Former Deputy Governor of Ondo State, Agboola Ajayi, has returned to the All Progressives Congress (APC), citing the need to support President Bola Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda and Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa’s EASE Agenda.
Ajayi, who was the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) governorship candidate in the last election, formally rejoined the APC at his ward, Apoi Ward 2, Kiribo, in Ese Odo Local Government Area of the state.
Ajayi emphasized that his decision was driven by the desire to add value to the APC and contribute to the nation’s development.
He likened his return to political reconciliations in other democracies, stressing that personal differences must give way to national interest.
Governor Aiyedatiwa welcomed Ajayi back to the APC, describing his return as a major boost to the party in Ondo State.
The Ondo State APC Chairman, Ade Adetimehin, praised Ajayi as a grassroots politician with deep knowledge of the state’s political landscape, saying his return strengthens the party ahead of future elections.
