The Speaker of the House of Representatives, Tajudeen Abbas, has called on security agencies to intensify efforts against terrorism and other forms of criminality, stressing that tackling insecurity requires collaboration between the government and citizens.
In a statement on Friday, Abbas strongly condemned the recent killings in Kwara and Benue states, expressing deep concern over the continued loss of innocent lives under troubling circumstances.

He urged security forces to take more decisive action, noting that President Bola Tinubu and the National Assembly have consistently provided the Armed Forces with the necessary resources and moral support to enhance national security.
The Speaker emphasised that all stakeholders must work together to confront the country’s common enemies and restore peace across affected communities.
Abbas also extended his condolences to the governments and people of Kwara and Benue states, while praying for the repose of the souls of those killed in the attacks.
