2019 Bronze Medalist, Nigeria will not partake in the Men’s Event having fallen out of the top 16 ranking in the continent. In the 2022 FIBA 3X3 Africa Cup, Madagascar defeated Egypt in the final 20-17 while Rwanda defeated Tunisia 21-17 to claim the Bronze Medal.

In the Women’s Event, Nigeria and Ethiopia replaced Liberia and Gabon respectively despite being out of the Top 16 Ranked in Africa. Kenya and Botswana also withdraw from the Event, making it 14 teams competing for Gold in Ghana. Nigeria who won Gold in 2019 will face familiar foes such as Mali and DR Congo who won silver and Bronze respectively. The other teams include Host, Ghana, Egypt, Tunisia, Benin, Uganda, Morocco, Algeria, Zambia, Madagascar, Burundi, Tanzania and Togo

Ghana will be looking to build on their silver-winning performance at the ANOCA Zone III championship held in Togo in December 2023 as they lost to eventual winners, Cote d’Ivoire 13-6 at the University of Lomé Court.
