The Lagos State Government has inaugurated a planning committee to oversee the final rites of the late Akran of Badagry, His Royal Majesty, Wheno Aholu Menu-Toyi I, who passed away in January 2026 at 89 after a 48-year reign.

The committee, chaired by Secretary to the State Government, Bimbola Salu-Hundeyin, aims to deliver a “unique, befitting, and memorable celebration” honoring the revered monarch.

Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu charged committee members to approach their task with unity and clarity, emphasizing Badagry’s special place in the state’s affairs.
The committee includes local government chairmen, traditional and religious leaders, and representatives from the Lagos State House of Assembly.
