A prosecution witness, Ahmed Audu Abubakar, has testified that Ali Bello, Chief of Staff to Kogi State Governor Usman Ododo, is linked to funds from the Kogi State Government.
Abubakar, an EFCC investigator, revealed this during the trial of Bello and his co-defendant, Dauda Sulaiman, who are facing a 16-count amended charge of alleged misappropriation and money laundering totaling ₦10,270,556,800.00.
The witness identified Exhibit F, a document containing details of inflows and outflows of funds, which showed a $91,000.00 outflow dated February 5, 2021, paid to “Oga Ali,” referring to Ali Bello. Another entry showed ₦150,000.00 released to “Presido” on February 6, 2021.
The witness also linked Bello to payments made to Dantata and Sawoe Construction Company for Plot 1060 in Gwarimpa, Abuja.
The trial, before Justice James Omotosho of the Federal High Court, Maitama, Abuja, has been adjourned to February 17, 2026, for continuation.
