The African Action Congress (AAC) has rejected the outcome of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Area Council elections, alleging widespread manipulation, voter suppression, vote buying, and institutional compromise.
The party claims that the exercise was a “coordinated assault on the will of the people” and a deliberate effort to subvert the electoral process in favor of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).
According to the AAC, irregularities began before election day, particularly in Kwali Area Council, where hundreds of voters were disenfranchised after the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) allegedly failed to account for their Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs).
The party also alleged that a curfew imposed by the FCT Minister restricted movement and prevented many voters from accessing their polling units.
The AAC has demanded an independent investigation into the alleged disappearance and fraudulent collection of PVCs, prosecution of security personnel and politicians involved in electoral violence, and nullification of results from polling units where malpractice occurred.
