The Kano State Pilgrims Welfare Board has announced May 13, 2026, as the commencement date for airlifting intending pilgrims to Saudi Arabia for the 2026 Hajj exercise.
The Board’s Director-General, Alhaji Abubakar Ibrahim Matawalle, stated that all preparations are complete, with a tentative fare of N8.5m.
Matawalle briefed the Kano State House of Assembly, emphasizing transparency and coordination. He assured stakeholders of a smooth Hajj operation, introducing new strategies to enhance service delivery.
The Assembly pledged support, and the Board reaffirmed its commitment to pilgrims’ welfare, safety, and spiritual fulfillment.
As part of preparations, Matawalle visited the Federal Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Kano Office, to strengthen inter-agency collaboration.
He stressed the importance of cordial relationships with relevant authorities and security agencies.
The Board’s proactive approach aims to ensure a successful Hajj experience for Kano pilgrims. With the airlift date approaching, intending pilgrims are expected to finalize their preparations.
