A drone strike on the Sudanese city of Al-Mojlad, currently under paramilitary control, killed 18 people and injured 25 others, a local medic told AFP on Thursday, attributing the attack to the army.

Sudan’s protracted conflict has seen both the army and the paramilitary Rapid Support Forces (RSF) deploy drones, drawing repeated condemnation from the United Nations.

The medic, speaking from the city hospital, said the strike targeted civilian areas, including a market, and blamed the army for the deaths. The RSF, which has been fighting the military for nearly three years, also accused government forces of carrying out the drone attack.
