The Court of Appeal in Ibadan has adjourned the case involving the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) over its Ibadan elective convention indefinitely.

The court granted the parties leave to resolve the dispute amicably outside the courtroom, advising counsel to provide proper guidance to their clients for a peaceful resolution.

This move is seen as an attempt to allow the parties to explore alternative dispute resolution mechanisms and avoid further litigation.

During the sitting, the justices emphasized the importance of resolving internal party disputes through dialogue and mutual understanding.

They also urged the lawyers to be mindful of time, considering the recently released electoral timetable by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).

This suggests that the court is keen on ensuring that the party’s internal disputes do not hinder the electoral process.

This development follows the Court of Appeal’s earlier ruling in Abuja, which invalidated the PDP elective convention held in Ibadan, producing Kabiru Turaki (SAN) as the party’s National Chairman.

The adjournment has sparked hopes that the PDP may be able to resolve its internal conflicts and present a united front for the upcoming elections.
