The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board has disowned the admission of candidates into the Law Faculty of Lead City University, stating that the programme is currently under a five-year suspension.
The board explained that the admissions were not processed through the Central Admissions Processing System (CAPS), which remains the only authorised platform for processing admissions into tertiary institutions in Nigeria.

In a statement issued by its Public Communications Advisor, Fabian Benjamin, JAMB said it had received several complaints accusing the board of negligence for allegedly allowing students to gain admission into the university’s Law Faculty despite the existing suspension.
JAMB, however, described the development as unfortunate and clarified that it had no involvement in the admissions.

The board stressed that any admission conducted outside CAPS is illegal and invalid, warning prospective candidates against accepting offers that are not processed through the official platform.
It further urged candidates to verify their admission status through the CAPS portal before proceeding with registration to avoid complications.
