A devastating attack occurred in Niger State, Nigeria, as terrorists bombed a bridge along Luma road, Borgu LGA, connecting Luma-Babana-Agwara communities.
The explosion, caused by an improvised explosive device (IED), killed eight people, including the driver, who were traveling in a vehicle between Nuku and Woro.
The bridge, a vital link for residents, was damaged, disrupting movement and economic activities, particularly affecting the Babanna major border market, which holds every Monday.
The Niger State Police Command confirmed the bombing and reported that a clearance operation is ongoing.
This incident is part of a series of attacks in the region, with Boko Haram and other extremist groups suspected of involvement.
The Nigerian government has been working to address the threat, including deploying troops and collaborating with international partners .
