A violent clash between Hausa and Fulani residents in Kebbi State’s Alwasa community has left three people dead and several others displaced.
The trouble began when a Fulani youth allegedly stabbed a Hausa youth over reckless motorcycle riding, sparking reprisal attacks.
Kebbi State Governor Nasir Idris condemned the violence, assuring that justice will be served. “I have directed security agencies to track down the individual who initiated this crisis,” he stated. The governor also announced a ₦2 million donation to each affected family.
The incident highlights tensions between farming and herding communities in northern Nigeria. Authorities urge calm, emphasizing the need to preserve peaceful coexistence.
