Calvin Bassey has withdrawn from the Nigeria national football team squad ahead of upcoming international friendlies against Iran and Jordan due to a back injury.
The Fulham defender, who was named in head coach Eric Chelle’s 23-man squad, pulled out of the camp in Antalya, Turkey, to focus on recovery.
His absence is considered a setback for the team’s defensive setup, given his key role in recent matches. There is no confirmation yet on whether a replacement will be called up.
Meanwhile, the rest of the invited players have arrived in camp and took part in their first full training session on Wednesday as preparations continue for the two friendly fixtures.
