Eze Madumere, former Deputy Governor of Imo State, has resigned from the All Progressives Congress (APC), ending his long-standing association with the ruling party.
In a letter dated March 17, Madumere cited “deep personal reflection” on his political journey as the reason for his decision, which takes immediate effect.
Madumere, who served as Deputy Governor from 2015 to 2019 under former Governor Rochas Okorocha, expressed appreciation for relationships built within the APC and urged continued cordial ties with party members.
He did not disclose his next political move, but sources suggest he might join the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to contest the governorship seat in Imo State.
Madumere’s resignation marks a significant shift in Imo State politics, potentially reshaping local calculations ahead of future elections.
