Bauchi State Governor Bala Mohammed is considering leaving the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) due to internal crises and factional disputes.
He described the PDP as “headless” and met with the African Democratic Congress (ADC) delegation to discuss a possible defection.
Mohammed stated that committees have been set up to evaluate options, including engagement with the All Progressives Congress (APC), prioritizing a platform that can unite the opposition ahead of the 2027 general elections.
The governor criticized Minister Nyesom Wike, alleging he has taken control of the PDP structure. A formal decision is expected soon, with consultations ongoing.
ADC’s Babachir Lawal welcomed Mohammed, citing the need for unity among Nigerians to address economic and security challenges.
