Nigeria Super Eagles have maintained their 26th position in the latest FIFA World Ranking following their performances during the March international window.

The team, under head coach Eric Chelle, recorded a 2–1 victory over Iran and a 2–2 draw against Jordan in two friendly matches. The win over higher-ranked Iran earned Nigeria 5.34 ranking points, while the draw against lower-ranked Jordan resulted in a deduction of 1.81 points.

Despite the mixed outcomes, Nigeria retained a total of 1585.09 points, holding on to the gains secured earlier this year after finishing third at the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations, a campaign that saw them climb from 38th to 26th in the global rankings.

The current position represents Nigeria’s highest ranking in 16 years, with their last better placement coming in May 2010 when they were ranked 21st in the world.

In Africa, Morocco national football team remain the highest-ranked side, sitting eighth globally, followed by Senegal national football team in 14th place. Nigeria rank third on the continent, ahead of Algeria, Egypt and Ivory Coast.

Globally, France national football team have moved to the top of the rankings, overtaking Spain national football team, while Argentina national football team sit in third position. England, Portugal, Brazil, the Netherlands, Morocco, Belgium and Germany complete the top 10.

The rankings, which now update in real time during international windows, will be revised again after the June fixtures as teams continue preparations for upcoming global competitions.
