Trabzonspor saw their Turkish Super Lig title hopes suffer a setback after a 1-1 draw with Alanyaspor, with the absence of striker Paul Onuachu felt strongly throughout the contest.
The visitors, who were without their leading scorer due to a muscle injury picked up in training, dropped points for the first time in six matches as their attacking rhythm was disrupted.

After a goalless first half at the Alanya Oba Stadium, Trabzonspor broke the deadlock in the 58th minute through Ozan Tufan, giving them control of the game.
However, the lead lasted only a few minutes. Following a VAR review, Alanyaspor were awarded a penalty in the 63rd minute, which Güven Yalçın converted to level the score.
Despite late pressure, Trabzonspor could not find a winning goal and were forced to settle for a draw that leaves them on 64 points and slows their momentum in the title race.

Onuachu’s absence was a major talking point, with the Nigerian striker having scored 22 league goals this season and playing a key role in the team’s attacking structure, particularly with his aerial strength and finishing ability.
There were still positive displays from other Nigerians in the squad, including Anthony Nwakaeme, who played 84 minutes and remained lively in attack, though he could not produce a decisive contribution.

Defender Chibuike Nwaiwu also completed the full match, delivering a solid performance at the back while helping to contain Alanyaspor’s attacks.
Trabzonspor will now aim to bounce back in their next fixture against RAMS Başakşehir as the season moves into its final stretch.
