Anthony Joshua has turned down an immediate challenge from rival Tyson Fury following Fury’s victory over Arslanbek Makhmudov at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium on Saturday night.
Fury, who dominated the bout, used his post-fight interview to call out Joshua for a long-anticipated “Battle of Britain” showdown, urging the former heavyweight champion to accept the challenge.
“I want you, AJ… Let’s give the fight fans what they want,” Fury said, directly addressing Joshua ringside.

Joshua, however, did not enter the ring and instead declined the immediate confrontation, drawing mixed reactions from the crowd.
Responding later, Joshua dismissed Fury’s call-out, insisting he remains open to the fight but will only proceed through proper negotiations.
“I’ve never had a problem getting in the ring with you… When you’re ready, you come and see me and tell me your terms,” Joshua said.
He stressed that he is focused on structured discussions rather than public challenges, adding that any potential fight would require formal agreements between both camps.
Joshua also noted that he is managing personal matters and evaluating his return to the ring before committing to his next bout.

The long-awaited heavyweight clash between the two British stars has been discussed for years but has repeatedly collapsed due to promotional and financial disagreements.
While both fighters continue to express interest, the proposed showdown remains uncertain despite renewed calls from Fury.
