The agreement was signed by the Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development, Festus Keyamo, during the Global Implementation Support Symposium (GISS) held in Marrakech.

In a statement issued by his Special Adviser on Media and Communications, Tunde Moshood, the deal was described as a significant step toward improving bilateral air transport relations.

According to the statement, the revised BASA introduces a modern framework designed to enhance connectivity, deepen commercial cooperation, and create more operational opportunities for airlines, airports, and regulatory bodies in both countries.

The government noted that the agreement is expected to boost trade, tourism, and investment flows, while also promoting stronger people-to-people interactions.

It added that the deal aligns with broader continental aviation objectives, with a focus on safety, security, and environmental sustainability.
