Madagascar has expelled a French diplomat after accusing him of involvement in activities deemed to undermine national stability.
The foreign ministry said the decision was conveyed after summoning France’s ambassador in Antananarivo. Ambassador Arnaud Guillois was informed that a staff member of the French embassy had been declared persona non grata.

According to the ministry, the unnamed diplomat was found to have engaged in conduct “incompatible with his status,” though no further details were provided.

The move marks a fresh diplomatic tension between Madagascar and France, as authorities did not immediately disclose the specific allegations behind the expulsion.
