Rema is set to perform at the opening ceremony of the 2026 FIFA World Cup alongside several global music stars as FIFA unveiled plans for a series of celebrations across the tournament’s three host nations — Mexico, the United States, and Canada.

World football governing body FIFA confirmed on Friday that the tournament will feature a trilogy of opening ceremonies, with each host country staging its own entertainment showcase ahead of its opening match.

The first ceremony will take place on June 11 at the Azteca Stadium in Mexico City before the opening game

between Mexico and South Africa. The event will feature artists including J Balvin, Mana, Alejandro Fernandez, Belinda, Lila Downs, Tyla and Los Angeles Azules.

Canada’s opening match against Bosnia and Herzegovina on June 12 in Toronto will also feature performances from top acts including Alanis Morissette, Michael Buble, Alessia Cara, Jessie Reyez and Nora Fatehi.

Later the same day, the United States will launch their campaign against Paraguay in Los Angeles, where Katy Perry, Future, Lisa, Anitta, Rema and Tyla are expected to perform.

FIFA President Gianni Infantino said the ceremonies would celebrate the cultural diversity of the host nations while promoting unity through football and music.

According to FIFA, additional artists are expected to be announced, while fans attending the ceremonies have been encouraged to arrive early and actively participate in the celebrations.
