First Lady Oluremi Tinubu has handed over new cars to APC women leaders in five states where the party doesn’t control the government.
She announced the donation Tuesday at the launch of “Tinubu Torchbearers”, a pro-Tinubu support group, held at the State House banquet hall in Abuja.
The beneficiaries are the APC women leaders from Abia, Anambra, Bauchi, Osun, and Oyo. Oluremi said the vehicles will be delivered before the end of the week and will be registered personally to the women, not the party.
“Your vehicles will be ready before the end of the week. They are your personal vehicles. Register them in your names and use them for party service and your communities,” she told them.
She also urged APC governors to buy vehicles and support women leaders in their own states. According to her, empowering women is key to APC’s vision of inclusive governance because women drive grassroots mobilisation and party building.
Oluremi described the APC as a model of democratic engagement, saying politics can be done without bitterness. She pointed to the party’s recent primaries as proof of internal democracy.
She charged Tinubu Torchbearers members to promote the Renewed Hope Agenda and explain government policies ahead of 2027.
APC National Women Leader Mary Alile-Idele said the group now has structures in all 774 LGAs to push government programs. She also praised the Renewed Hope Initiative for supporting women, youths, and vulnerable groups through empowerment schemes.
