Nigeria’s Super Eagles have maintained their position in the latest FIFA men’s world rankings, remaining 26th globally in the standings released on Thursday.
The three-time African champions also retained their status as the third-highest ranked team on the continent, behind Morocco and Senegal. Algeria and Egypt complete the top five teams in Africa.

The latest rankings follow a series of international fixtures under head coach Eric Chelle. During the review period, the Super Eagles recorded victories over Zimbabwe and Jamaica in friendly matches, played out a draw against Poland, and suffered a defeat to Portugal.
Despite the mixed results, Nigeria held on to their position among the world’s top 30 teams and remain one of Africa’s leading football nations.
At the top of the global rankings, Argentina continue to occupy first place as reigning world champions, while Spain, France, England and Portugal complete the top five.
The next FIFA rankings update is scheduled to be released on July 20, when teams’ performances in upcoming international fixtures could lead to further movement in the standings.
