An Enugu Air aircraft skidded off the runway shortly after touching down at Benin Airport on Tuesday, prompting a swift emergency response from airport officials.
In a statement released after the incident, the airline confirmed that all passengers and crew were safely evacuated. No injuries or deaths were recorded.
“The aircraft has been secured and the relevant aviation authorities have been notified in line with standard procedures. An assessment of the aircraft and the circumstances around the incident is currently underway,” Enugu Air said.
Flight operations at the airport were briefly disrupted while emergency teams worked to secure the plane and officials began their initial assessment.
The airline said the runway excursion could lead to some changes to its flight schedule in the coming hours. Affected passengers will be contacted directly and given support.
Enugu Air stressed that passenger and crew safety remains its top priority, and confirmed it is cooperating fully with aviation authorities as investigations continue.
