The Muslim Ummah of South West Nigeria (MUSWEN) has commended outgoing Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) Registrar, Professor Is-haq Oloyede, for what it described as “an exceptional 10-year record of service, transparency, and institutional reform.”

In a statement released on Thursday and jointly signed by its President, Alhaji Rasaki Oladejo, and Executive Secretary, Professor Wole Abbas, MUSWEN said Oloyede’s tenure transformed the examination body from a “historically compromised institution” into a model of public efficiency.

Professor Oloyede was first appointed JAMB Registrar in 2016 and reappointed for a second term in 2021. He officially steps down on July 31, 2026. He will hand over to the newly appointed Registrar, Professor Segun Aina, a Professor of Computer Engineering from Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife.

MUSWEN described the outgoing Chief Executive as “a model of transparency and accountability,” citing major fiscal reforms under his leadership.

“Before Oloyede’s administration, JAMB notoriously remitted minimal amounts to the federal treasury. Under his stewardship, the board completely sanitised its financial operations, ultimately returning over N55 billion to the national treasury,” the statement said.

The group said the discipline restored public confidence in Nigeria’s public examination systems.

As JAMB begins a new chapter, MUSWEN called on educational stakeholders, including the media and civil society, to give the same systemic support to the incoming leadership.

“The incoming Registrar, Professor Segun Aina—an expert in digital infrastructure and national examination systems—faces the monumental task of maintaining the strict standards of integrity established over the last decade and we must all assist him to succeed,” MUSWEN said.

The organization also offered prayers for Oloyede’s future endeavors, adding that his public service record “will remain a template for effective governance in Nigeria.”
