Victor Osimhen scored twice as Galatasaray began their 2026/27 Turkish Süper Lig title defence with a 2-2 draw against newly promoted Çorum FK at RAMS Park on Friday.
The Nigerian striker struck in the 53rd and 90th minutes, rescuing a point for the champions after Çorum had overturned Galatasaray’s early lead.

Galatasaray dominated the opening half but struggled to find the breakthrough, with Osimhen coming close with a header and a long-range effort.
The 27-year-old finally opened the scoring eight minutes after the restart when Lucas Torreira released him into space before he calmly lifted the ball over the advancing goalkeeper.
Çorum responded quickly, with Alexandros Kyziridis equalising in the 59th minute before Jesús Ramírez completed the comeback two minutes later.

The visitors were reduced to 10 men in the 70th minute after Kyziridis was shown a red card, but they continued to frustrate the hosts.
Osimhen eventually rescued Galatasaray in the 90th minute, rising to head Gabriel Sara’s corner into the bottom-left corner.

Galatasaray pushed for a winner during seven minutes of added time, but Çorum goalkeeper Marcos Felipe made several important saves to secure a valuable point for the newly promoted side.
The result leaves both teams with one point from the opening round, while Galatasaray will now turn their attention to an away fixture against another newly promoted side, Erzurumspor.
