Local sources have identified a Lakurawa terrorist known as Mar Dego as one of the suspected attackers involved in Friday’s assault on a mosque in Dekera District, Borgu Local Government Area of Niger State.
According to residents familiar with the incident, gunmen stormed the mosque during prayers.

The sources allege the attack resulted in multiple abductions, though the exact number of victims has not been officially confirmed.
Security agencies have not yet released a formal statement on the incident or on the identity of those involved.
Community leaders in Dekera said they are calling for increased security presence in the area to prevent further attacks.
The Lakurawa group has been linked to attacks in parts of northwestern Nigeria in recent years. Authorities have previously urged residents to report suspicious movements to security forces.
