Kwara State Governor, Mr. AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq has extended his congratulatory messages to Mariam Bolaji, a para-badminton star for her historic gold medal win at the Spanish Para-Badminton International 2024 in Toledo, Spain.
Mariam, a Kwara-born, performed exceptionally throughout the tournament, culminating in a decisive victory over India’s Mandeep Kaur, the fifth-ranked badminton player globally, with a flawless 2-0 triumph, securing the prestigious gold medal.
With her sights on further achievements, Bolaji is poised to represent Nigeria at the upcoming Paralympic Games in Paris this July.
Governor AbdulRazaq praised Bolaji’s remarkable triumph, recognizing her as a formidable force in global para-badminton with an illustrious track record. He emphasized that her consecutive victories underscore the idea that disabilities are mere mental barriers.
