A Tribe Called Judah, the latest film project by Nigerian actress Funke Akindele, has quickly taken off and grown to become the highest-grossing film of 2023, earning an astounding N400 million in its first 12 days of release in theatres.
The Nigerian box office emphasised this remarkable accomplishment in a tweet on Tuesday, highlighting the film’s significant influence on viewer interaction.

The statement, which was also shared on Instagram by Film One Entertainment, not only positions the movie as a blockbuster in 2023 but also places it in the elite group of the top five highest-grossing Nigerian films of all time, ranking alongside well-known works like “The Wedding Party” and “Omo Ghetto: The Saga.”
In just the first two days of its release, the film had already made over N60 million, indicating an exceptional trajectory at the box office.
This new achievement follows in the footsteps of Akindele’s previous triumph with “Battle on Buka Street,” which, based to figures from the Cinema Exhibitors Association of Nigeria (CEAN), made N640 million in theatre sales over nine weeks, making it the second-highest-grossing film of 2022.
Funke Akindele is still making a name for herself in the Nigerian film business by telling powerful stories that connect with viewers and change the movie scene in a big way.
