Hope Uzodinma, securing a second term, recently took the oath of office as Imo State’s governor, with the ceremony held at Dan Ayiam Stadium in Owerri.
The swearing-in event was graced by prominent figures, including President Bola Tinubu, ex-president Olusegun Obasanjo, Senate President Godswill Akpabio, Speaker Tajudeen Abbas, and other key All Progressives Congress (APC) members.

President Tinubu, during the same event, inaugurated the revamped Sam Mbakwe International Airport road, now known as ‘Bola Tinubu Drive.’
The road transformation includes an upgrade from a dualized two-lane to a four-lane highway, adorned with street lights stretching from Owerri-Aba Road to the Airport.
Additionally, the president is anticipated to unveil the new Twin Tollgate, further enhancing the state’s infrastructure landscape.
