Due to noise pollution and other environmental infractions, the Lagos State Government has closed nine hotels and one business.
The Lagos State Environmental Protection Agency (LASEPA), which made this announcement on its X handle on Thursday night, sent out information on the enforcement.
The nine factories were shut down, according to the environmental protection agency, to protect the state’s ecology from pollution and other infractions.

The agency wrote: “The Lagos State Environmental Protection Agency (LASEPA), in line with its mandate to safeguard the environment from Pollution and other violations, took decisive action by sealing several establishments, including Hotels, Lounge, mall, company.

In October 2023, the agency took action against noise pollution by sealing churches, event centres, and various establishments across Lagos Island, Ojodu, Ogba, Magodo, and Ikosi areas.
Among those affected were New Jerusalem Ark of God International Church and Yplus Event Centre.
The following December saw the agency’s continued efforts, sealing a parish of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), Ifelodun Mosque, and several other worship centres due to noise pollution.
In the same month, Quilox, a popular nightclub on Victoria Island owned by Shina Abiola Peller, a former member of the House of Representatives and CEO of Aquila Group of Companies, faced closure for environmental and safety violations.
Notably, it was the second time the club had been sealed within the year, as a joint operation by the agency and the Lagos State Safety Commission took action.
