The Elephants of Coted’Ivoire have defeated the Super Eagles of Nigeria 2-1 after regulation time to win the 2023 African Cup of Nations.

Nigerian skipper, William Troost Ekong gave the Super Eagles the lead in the 38th minute after heading the ball into the net. The Ivorians scored the equalizer in the 62nd minute as Franck Kessie shot past the Nigeria Goalkeeper. The Host Nation pressured the Super Eagles until Sebastian Haller scored the second goal to give the Ivorians the lead in the 82nd minute.
