NWSL: Oshoala Makes History as BayFC Wins First Match

Nigeria and Six-Time African Footballer of the Year, Asisat Oshoala scored the First Goal in Bay FC’s History as she opened the scoring with a 1-0 win over Angel FC on Sunday.

The Former Barcelona striker who signed a two-year contract with an option of a further year with the American Club scored in the 17th minute to score Bay FC First first-ever goal as a club at the BMO Stadium in Los Angeles.

The striker shot past Angel City FC Goalkeeper, Andersen after receiving a pass from American Midfielder, Tess Boade recording the first assist in club history. Bay FC goalkeeper, Proulx also kept the first clean sheet in the club history with eight saves. Asisat Oshoala, Deyna Castellanos and Proulx became the first international players to appear in a game for Bay FC.

The California-based club’s next match will be against Washington Spirit at the Audi Pitch on the 24th of March 2024.
