Super Eagles and Fulham Defender, Calvin Bassey will not play in the second International Friendly match between the Super Eagles of Nigeria and Mali when they face off on the 26th of March 2024 in Marrakech, Morocco.

Bassey is among the 23 players who resumed camp for Nigeria’s international break games against Ghana and Mali but didn’t feature in the 2-1 win over Ghana and is reportedly on his way to England for assessment of an injury. The defender was instrumental in the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations which was held in Ivory Coast. Bassey has been a regular for the Super Eagles since his transfer to Fulham from Ajax Amsterdam for a 20 million record fee in the 2022/2023 season.
